IP Centrex

Description

IP Centrex (also referred to as "hosted PBX") means enjoying the PBX features such as internal calling between endpoints, transfering, voicemail and conferencing without owning the actual PBX. This is a very good solution for enjoying advanced business telephony applications without actually having to invest a lot of money.

Hosted PBX Installation
Instead of owning the PBX and installing it in your own office, the telecom operator might offer the service of "renting" the PBX to those interested. IP technologies make this model even easier to implement - many office endpoints can connect via the standard IP network.

Business Benefits

Full flexibility without the investment. With hosted PBX you can enjoy all features of a telephony system without having to buy one.

Linear Costs of Hosted PBX
Unlike typical investments in fixed assets, the hosted model allows you to adjust your expenses for business telephony applications exacty to your needs.

No worry about maintenance. Since the equipment is not physically located in your office you do not have to worry about technical maintenance or associated costs (such as power supply, air-conditioning, system checks, etc.)

No worry about obsolecence.  Since the system is installed and owned by the operator, it is the operator's concern to update and upgrade the systems.

Linear behavior of costs. Adding new extensions or new functionality to the system generates only very small incremental costs. If you owned the PBX at your office, you will very often face a situation where you have to buy an expensive module for 64 persons, while in fact you only need 5.

No geographical limitations. With locally installed PBX you must keep your phones inside the office. With hosted PBX geography does not matter -- you can connect your endpoints from any remote location or locations. In fact two endpoints can be in different offices, different cities and even different countries. An added benefit is that even home phone can become an extension of the business PBX for remote workers.

Lower cost by avoiding national or international toll charges. Calls between your "internal" extensions are free of charge even if endpoints are in different countries. This in fact means that international calls become free for in-business purposes.

Ideal For

  • Small companies avoiding investment in PBX
  • Companies whose needs will change quickly
  • Companies which have multiple sites and/or teleworkers
